Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm Review (Vs. Liz Earle)

I'll start by saying that I've been an avid user of the super popular Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for near enough two years, and for those two years, it served me well. Recently, though, I had the urge to switch up my skincare routine slightly as I felt as though my skin just wasn't looking the best it could. I'd heard so many beauty gurus and bloggers mention the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm , and once I heard Caroline Hirons mention it, I purchased it right away.

The one thing I'd never loved about the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish was the simple fact that it was a cream cleanser. I just don't find these to be as nourishing for my skin as I'd like, as well as the fact that it just doesn't feel any way luxurious on the skin like the Emma Hardie cleansing balm does. I'll admit, in terms of cleansers and skincare products in general, I can be a bit high maintenance, haha.. anyone else?

When I first received it in the post, the first thing I noticed was how high-end the packaging itself feels and looks, although it may not be the best for travelling if you prefer to travel light. The excitement was all a bit much so I removed my make-up as soon as I could, and fell in love with this product immediately.

First, I remove eye make-up and the bulk of my foundation/face make-up with the Garnier Micellaire Water that I swear by (much better than Bioderma, in my opinion), and then cleanse my face with a small amount of the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm whilst my face has a little bit of residue left from the micellaire water. I massage the balm, which then turns into an oil consistency, into my face in circular motions for a minute or two and the make-up residue melts away effortlessly.

I then dampen the muslin side of the Emma Hardie cleansing cloth and use it to remove the product and exfoliate my skin at the same time. The cloth that comes with this cleanser is also great, much thicker and generally better than the Liz Earle cloths.  Maybe not a huge selling factor to some, but the smell of this product is divine, and definitely one of the first things that I adored about it. I think it smells just like the Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil, if you've ever had the pleasure of smelling it.

After a few weeks of use, I've noticed my skin looking considerably healthier, much more moisturised, and those dehydrated patches down the sides of my face that I constantly moaned about in the past.. gone. Also, I feel that the appearance of the pores on my cheeks has been minimised.. although that may be partly due to a primer that I've recently discovered (review coming soon), but no doubt this product has contributed as well.

Something I didn't know about this product was that it can be used as a soothing mask if you leave it to sit on your skin for ten minutes or so.. I'll definitely be giving this a go the next night my skin feels like it needs a bit of attention!

Overall, I'd give this product 10/10 and I'd recommend to anybody. I can't imagine why anybody would dislike it. I have combination/oily skin and this product works an absolute treat! Although it may be a bit more spendy at £38, if you don't mind spending a bit extra on skincare.. I'd say definitely give this a go! It is available from Feel Unique who are almost always running some sort of promotion, whether it be 10% off or another deal to entice you!!
