MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation Review

This is the MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation that has been released within the past few months, and everybody in the beauty world has been going crazy over it.
I haven't been a massive fan of MAC foundations in the past, as they always seemed to break me out or make my face incredibly itchy (I must have been allergic), so I honestly wasn't all that interested when I heard they were bringing out a new formula.
On a complete whim when I was actually in store looking for a lipstick, I asked the lady at the MAC counter for a sample of the Waterweight. I asked for the same shade that she was wearing (NC25) and it matched me perfectly!
Even though I picked up the sample, I was actually pretty reluctant to put it on my face and waited to try it out until I had a day that I didn't have to leave the house incase it ended up looking completely horrendous.

I typically apply one coat using  my Real Techniques Buffing Brush , and then apply another little bit to my cheeks and nose as this is where I need the most coverage.  I then apply concealer to the sides of my nose and under my eyes as usual, powder using MAC Mineralise SkinFinish Natural in 'Medium' and the rest of my make-up as normal.

The foundation gives a light-medium coverage. It is definitely not for the girls who want a very full coverage foundation. It would be best if you like light, but buildable coverage.
It is a very lightweight formula (as the name 'waterweight' would suggest) and it feels very comfortable to wear - there's nothing worse than a foundation that feels and looks like mud! What makes it even better is that it blends like an absolute dream with minimal effort needed! Perfect for those who are new to foundation, or even if you (like me) just haven't got the energy or the patience for spending ages blending foundation in the morning!

My skin would be oily/combination and I used to have an absolute nightmare finding a foundation that lasted even more than 3-4 hours, never mind a whole day. I can honestly say when paired with the MAC MSF and MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base Primer (I've done a review on this previously), this stuff lasts me the whole day - no exaggeration! I rarely have to blot my face when I'm using this, which is something I've always  had to do in the past!
I've received so many compliments since I started using this, and safe to say, I can't see myself wanting to switch to another brand anytime soon! It gives such a healthy glow, and does not give a completely matte finish to the skin, which can look a bit harsh. Also, this foundation is supposed to be suited to ALL skin types, no matter if you're oily, dry or have mature skin. (That's what I've been told, anyway)

Overall, I cannot fault this product, I think it is amazing - by FAR the best foundation I've ever used. 10/10! Go get it!

(The photos below have been taken in natural daylight and no filters have been applied. I wanted it to be as close to real-life as possible. Enjoy my up-close, awkward posy face. *facepalm*)

Thank you so much for reading this post, I couldn't wait to share my thoughts on this foundation from the minute I tried it!
Have you tried the MAC Waterweight or any other MAC foundations? I'd love to know your favourites!
