So its coming up to the end of semester, which means endless amounts of coursework and random shopping sprees here and there to keep me sane through it all. I recently made an order from the House of Fraser website and took a little trip to Boots also.
First is this Vichy Normaderm 'Night Detox' which I'd heard amazing things about. It was one of those things I'd always had in my online basket but never actually bought. It is supposed to minimise the look of imperfections, control excess sebum, make pores less visible and leave skin looking radiant.. all of the things I look for in a skincare product. This was the first time I noticed this was in stock at my local Boots, and it was the last one. So at £15, I couldn't not get it! Maybe my expectations for this product are a little bit high, considering it is on the cheap side of things at £15, but I'm expecting great things from what I've heard!
I had actually gone to Boots planning to get this Soap & Glory eye cream as I had run out of my well-loved Origins Ginzing eye cream a while back and had never got round to repurchasing. Reviews about this product that I have read have generally been very good, so I'm hoping this too will live up to my expectations. It has a gel-like consistency and a little seems to go a long way, so although the tub is only small (14ml) I think it will last a decent length of time.. Also, it promises to help fight dark circles and undereye puffiness, two things that I massively struggle with, so I'm hoping for good results!
So this is the NARS blush in 'Torrid' which I had wanted for the longest time, but was never in stock at my Space NK store! I have a slight addiction to NARS blushes.. I think they are by far the best ones out there, better than MAC or any others I've tried. Torrid is a shimmery coral shade, perfect for this time of year and I find it gives the perfect amount of colour for pairing with a nude lip... love it.
MAC 'Velvet Teddy' - I can't believe how late I am with this one. Back when the Kylie Jenner lip trend first became a 'thing', I searched high and low for this lipstick, but it was never in stock so I settled for 'Twig' instead, which is very similar but has reddish/pinkish undertones compared to 'Velvet Teddy'. I had seen that this was back in stock on the House of Fraser website, so I decided to pick it up and I'm so glad I did. I have naturally quite pigmented lips so when I wear nude lipsticks, the colour on my lips is never the exact same as the bullet, but I find adding a nude gloss or layering another nude lipstick over the top of this does the trick.
So I bought this a few weeks back as a pre-birthday present to myself.. the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in '13 Pink in Paris'.. amazing shade. I had never actually tried any YSL lipsticks before, and I was not disappointed. I spent literally about half an hour trying to decide between two shades, but decided I would probably get the most wear out of this one. As if I don't have enough pink lipsticks in my collection already, but the stunning gold packaging and the creaminess of this one had me sold. Its super hydrating and comfortable to wear and I can see myself returning to the YSL counter to pick up a few more of these!
