Review: Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara

I've always had so much bother in the past trying to find a mascara to meet the needs of my desperately short, straight lashes. Every mascara that I had dried was either, (a) too clumpy, (b) too heavy and didn't hold a curl, or (c) made absolutely no difference in terms of length or volume.

A week or two ago, I'd been doing my usual round at the make-up counters in Debenhams in an attempt to find a high-end mascara that I'd possibly like. I asked several different girls for their opinion and recommendations.. whilst also looking up reviews online. I needed to be convinced that spending £25+ on a mascara would be worth it!
I had my eye on the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara, and it was Ruth Crilly's review that then persuaded me to part with my £23 and give it a new home, although the fancy packaging definitely made me want it even more. I'm a complete magpie when it comes to shiny make-up packaging.

I literally took off my eye make-up as soon as I got home so I could try it out.. and I wasn't disappointed when I did. The thing I like most about this product is the wand and how it fits perfectly around the eye and distributes the perfect even amount of product onto your lashes whilst separating them in the process, so that you're not left with clumps here and there. The first few times I used this product, I did find the consistency to be a bit more watery than I'm used to, but after a few uses it seemed to dry out just the right amount which meant, for me, an easier application.

Below, you can see 'before and after' images. I've done nothing to my lashes in the first photo, I just have a little bit of MAC 'Smolder' eye pencil on the tightline and a tiny bit on my waterline too. (Excuse the brows, they need done.. )

In the second photo, I've used the Tweezerman eyelash curlers to curl my lashes and then applied two coats of the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara.

All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this mascara if you have short lashes like mine, although I would say this mightn't be suitable if a super volumizing mascara is what you're looking for.

This mascara has definitely opened my eyes to the fact that high-end mascaras can actually be worth the price you pay. I'd always been under the illusion that no mascara would ever make my lashes look half-way decent, no matter how much money I paid, as I had tried and been disappointed with so many in the past. But thanks to Dior, I'll definitely be giving more high-end mascaras a go! Lancome Hypnose is next on my list! You can pick up the Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara from Feel Unique for £24.50.. You can also pick it up in brown and even blue if you're feeling brave!

Have any of you tried out this Dior mascara? What are your thoughts on it?

Have you got a favourite mascara that you'd recommend to me?

Thanks so much for reading and all your kind comments as usual!
