Love Me Beauty Subscription Box

An explanation is in order for the lack of posting lately.. final year of college life has taken over everything the past few weeks and today is the first time in what seems like forever that I've been able to actually spend an hour doing something other than research or write-ups! I predict I'll be mega busy from now until Christmas, so please bear with me while I get my life in order.. *weeps*

Moaning aside, I had been contacted by a lady from the Love Me Beauty subscription service a few weeks ago, who had kindly sent me over this lovely box for review. In the past, I hadn't been interested in subscribing to beauty boxes as you're usually unaware of the products you'll receive, and whether or not they'll be something you'll actually like and use.  This is where Love Me Beauty has really upped their game.

A very simple online questionnaire helps determine what products will benefit your specific skin type, hair, body etc, and based on the answers you give, the specialists handpick the products you'll receive! I was really surprised at the selection of  amazing brands to choose from, including Too Faced, Lord & Berry, Nuxe, Malin & Goetz and NailsInc (although these products are switched up quite regularly, and obviously you mightn't receive the same products as it is dependent on how you answer the questions.) You can check the Love Me Beauty website for more info on how the service works! (The prices are usually 70% lower than high street prices, and you can use discount code - ciara50 for 50% off!! )

The box itself arrived really quickly and I've been spending the past few weeks trialing the products, some of which have really impressed me! You can see my review of the products below..

At the far left in the photo is the Neal & Wolf 'Smoothing Blowdry Balm' aimed at all hair types. I've mentioned before that I have the most unruly, frizzy hair.. especially if I dare go out in the damp air, or even worse, get rained on. I've tried so many products with the hope to find something that will tame the frizz, and I hadn't been satisfied with a product until I began using this one. I apply a pea sized amount to the lengths of my hair after I've towel-dried, and then  blow-dry as normal. It leaves my hair feeling super silky and you only need to use a small amount for effective results, so this bottle is going to last for a long, long time.

Next is a travel sized bottle of the  'Grapefruit Face Cleanser' by  Malin & Goetz  which is a brand I always see in SpaceNK and for this reason, I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately on the two occasions I had used this product, I had broken out shortly after. There are a handful of products/brands that I know to stay away from as they tend to aggravate my skin, and I think this is another brand to add to the list unfortunately, but that isn't to say it wouldn't work great for others! I must mention that I am very picky when it comes to facial cleansers, and I tend to stick to balm cleansers nowadays as I find them to be much more nourishing, so the gel texture wasn't for me!

The little yellow tube in the middle is  by far my most favourite product, I'd even go as far as saying it is my favourite lip balm ever . It is the Lanolips 'Banana Lip Balm' . If you know me personally, you'll know I'm a huge  fan of anything with a banana scent/taste. It mightn't be a scent for everyone, so  Lanolips  have a range of different scents/flavours in their lipbalm/oil line . This is a very thick, clear balm that instantly hydrates. Best of all, if I apply this at night I have very smooth lips in the morning whilst the product is still on my lips from the night before - amazing! Also, now that it is winter and most of us are suffering from dry, chapped lips, I like to apply a thin layer before applying lipstick. It gives the perfect base for applying lip products (even matte lipsticks) to lips that would have otherwise been extremely dry and flaky.
I'd say this product is one of my best discoveries of 2015 and I'm super curious to try other products from the brand!

The tiny little bottle of gold that looks a bit like a nail polish is the NUXE 'Multi-Purpose Dry Oil' which can be used on the face, hair and body. I haven't got a lot to report on this product as I haven't found the perfect use for it yet, although it gives a beautiful, yet subtle golden shimmer that I think would be perfect for using as a cheekbone or collarbone highlight on a night out. I'm going to a Christmas event shortly and I plan on using the oil on my collarbones. NUXE claims that this oil nourishes, softens and illuminates the skin, so no doubt I will love it!

Lastly is the Cailyn 'Gel Eye Shadow Pencil' in the shade '07 Mauve'. In the stick, it appears to be a medium brown, however it has purple undertones when swatched. I'm undecided about this product; it initially glides onto the eye with little effort, however I find it very difficult to blend out once applied. Having said that, it is probably the most long lasting eye shadow stick I've ever used (probably due to the gel consistency), and it does not budge or crease on the eye if used with primer. All in all, I don't think I would purchase this  with my own money, although I'm curious as to how well the other shades in this range are blended.

Don't forget, you can save 50% off your Love Me Beauty order by using the code ciara50
