Topshop Christmas OOTD

I hope everyone is enjoying Christmas week and fully indulging in the festive goodness. This Christmas has been the most relaxing I've had in so many years... no January exams to stress about and no long hours working in retail over the festive period. Instead of getting super dressed up on Christmas Day for what is always just a 'sitting in/eating food/drinking wine' day, I went for a more casual (and arguably not festive at all) look... it's just not comfortable wearing a tight dress or skirt through Christmas dinner! I picked up this floral wrap-around top from Topshop last month (similar items linked below) and paired it with a Topshop white cami underneath and a pair of wet-look jeans from Oasis.

Last Minute Stocking Fillers

With these past few months being completely hectic for me, I decided to take a break for a few weeks (which turned into a few months) away from the online fashion/beauty world that fascinates me to no end. Just yesterday I finished my last test for uni and with no January exams to stress about over the Christmas break, it's the perfect time to get back into what I enjoy most. *happy-face*
I've been spending my new-found freedom (since this morning.. lol) scoping the Internet to see what little beauty/fashion/accessory pieces I could find that I could include in this post. All of the pieces below are things that I'd either 100% recommend or would LOVE to receive myself and links to all products are included as always.

Missguided Christmas Essentials

After having a peek through the Missguided website I remember why it's always been my 'go-to' for the Christmas season. SO many beautiful, sparkly pieces that are just perfect for winter and just what I need in my wardrobe this time of year. It's always a pain to narrow down your shopping basket to a 'reasonable' amount to spend, although I've somehow managed to get my favourite items down to just a handful. I should also mention that Missguided are doing 25% student discount at the moment (they always have amazing deals) so definitely head over and have a look! Below I've listed some of my favourite pieces...

I'd love to know if you liked any of these pieces and are there any other websites you'd recommend for 'party season'? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading xx

Autumn-Winter Yankee Candles

It's finally my favourite time of year again. Although I do appreciate the milder weather in the Summer months, I can't help but count down the days every year 'til it's officially September again, and therefore it is finally acceptable to pull out the chunky knits, knee high boots and visit Yankee Candle a ridiculous amount of times to see what new and exciting scents they have to offer. Hallowe'en & Christmas candle shopping is up there with my favourite things to do. Sad, I know.

I had always been a fan of the large or medium sized jars in Yankee.. but when there are so many scents to choose from and some candles don't necessarily have the same scent when they are burnt, I figured it would be best to opt for the votives this time. Priced at £1.80 and providing up to 15 hours of fragrance each, I think they're incredible value for money and a great idea for testing out the scent before forking over £20 out of your pocket for a candle you mightn't end up liking.

Tropical Vibes

Palm trees and cocktails by the beach are the epitome of what the perfect summer day should entail.. but when you're living in Ireland, tropical prints on your clothes are about the height of your luck. These prints have been gracing the shop windows since the beginning of the summer season and whilst I'd love to pick up all of them, there are actually very few days in Ireland that are 'summery enough' let alone warm enough to pull off the beachy paradise prints.

But of course I had to buy just one *maybe 2, 3 or 4* though and attempt to create an outfit that is suitable for an average 16 degrees 'summer' day where I live. So with that in mind, I chose to go for this Warehouse off-shoulder bardot style top which looks great both sitting off your shoulders and also if you wear it as a regular top to give a square-ish neckline. I love the splash of blue and green print on the white background, which makes for a perfect combination when paired with blue or white denim jeans, or even with a denim skirt.

I've linked this top and more tropical printed pieces if you'd like to have a look. X

£25 PLT Embroidered Jeans

Follow

Embroidered jeans seem to be the latest trend that everybody is lusting over this summer. They can be so easily paired with a casual plain white tee and flat sandals, or dressed up with a fitted shirt and heels. Topshop in particular have brought out a few pairs that are completely stunning - although they're priced at almost £60 which not many are willing to pay for such a new trend that will likely go out of fashion as quickly as it came in. So I have decided to put together this post to share the complete bargain that I found - the embroidered skinny jeans that I'm wearing below were just £25 from Pretty Little Thing - and I actually much prefer these to the Topshop jeans if I'm honest. They sit lower on my waist than I usually prefer (I always go for high waisted), and although they aren't an exact dupe for the Topshop pair which have the 'Mom' jeans shape and embroidery right down to the bottom of the leg, I prefer the skinny look of these PLT jeans and the more vibrant embroidery.. and at such a good price, you can't really go wrong! For size reference, I'm wearing a size 8 so I'd recommend ordering your normal size. I have linked this pair plus a few alternative options below.

TopShop MOTO Floral Embroidered Mom Jeans • Topshop • £58

NEW £5 L'oreal Face Masks

Last week I did my usual ''go to Boots for one thing'' and came home with a bag full of things that I want but don't really need. My skin had been breaking out recently so I spent some time looking through the skincare aisle when I came across these new face masks by L'oreal. I'm a huge fan of  the L'oreal Infallible foundation and their products generally seem to work well with my skin.. so at £5 a piece, I couldn't not try out these two new masks.
One thing that was definitely missing from my skincare routine was a brightening/illuminating face mask - hence why I was immediately drawn to the Pure Clay Glow Mask by L'oreal (pictured above on the left hand side). I've swatched it in the image below (on the right) and as you can see it's an orange/red mask with exfoliating beads which aim to exfoliate the skin without drying it out. L'oreal have mentioned that this mask has been created using three pure clays combined with Red Algae Extract to help brighten and illuminate. I leave this mask on my skin for 5/10 minutes and remove using a damp muslin cloth. I find this product to be great for brightening and illuminating however I do prefer to exfoliate using the Pixi Glow Tonic which I find gives much better results in terms of exfoliation. Nevertheless, it's a nice mask for a pamper morning/night and for those wanting to add some glow to their skin.

ZARA Love

Follow

June is always an exciting time of year for any shopaholics/fashion girls as most of the high street stores launch their mid-year sales. Although it was completely unnecessary, I definitely did some post-holiday damage in a few of my favourite stores.. and found some amazing pieces. ZARA recently launched their sale and even though I somehow missed out on their email notification and therefore probably missed out on the best selection, I still managed to place an order and get my hands on some amazing deals. I thought I'd put together yet another ZARA appreciation post to show some of my favourite pieces I've been wearing recently.

One thing that ZARA always do well are stripes. As I've mentioned before, I'm a massive fan of striped pieces as it's a semi-subtle print that can be easily paired with other prints without clashing, especially if they're fine pin stripes and a soft colour like the shirt I'm wearing below. I actually picked up this shirt some time last year, however ZARA have so many takes on the classic striped shirt, and they're all pretty similar to be honest, so I've linked a very similar one below! For this look, I've paired my striped shirt with my new pink/mauve high-waisted Topshop Jamie jeans and added some cut-out brown boots from New Look. I just love how well the soft pink and blue tones compliment each other, although I decided to add quite a bright lip for a pop of colour. I'm wearing MAC 'All Fired Up' from last years Christmas collection.

Mustard Biker Jacket Trend

Follow

The ZARA faux leather mustard jacket has been one piece that everyone seems to be wearing this past while. I actually tried it on about two months ago and whilst I absolutely loved the look of it, I thought the colour was just that bit too strong for me.. if only it had been toned down ever so slightly, it would have been perfect. This started me on a mission to find an alternative mustard biker jacket that would compliment my colouring and complexion that bit better.

A few weeks on, I'd seen somebody post this Missguided mustard suedette jacket on Instagram, and I knew I had to have it. It just seemed that bit more wearable (for myself anyway) as the colour didn't look as intense as the ZARA jacket. Maybe I'm mad for actually noticing the difference in shade, but I am definitely glad that I waited and picked up the Missguided one instead! I decided to pair it with a slightly longer subtle striped shirt from Warehouse (now on sale) to give a bit of length to the outfit as the jacket is a cropped style, along with my deep blue high-waisted Topshop Joni jeans.

Both jackets from Missguided and ZARA are still available.. and both are £40 each. Items are linked below as always. For size reference, I ordered a size 8 in the Missguided jacket and it fits fine although it is a relaxed fit, so if you prefer a very tight fit then you might be best ordering one size down. x

Thanks so much for reading as always.. I'd love to know what you think of the mustard biker jacket trend in the comments below! xox
