Missguided Christmas Essentials

After having a peek through the Missguided website I remember why it's always been my 'go-to' for the Christmas season. SO many beautiful, sparkly pieces that are just perfect for winter and just what I need in my wardrobe this time of year. It's always a pain to narrow down your shopping basket to a 'reasonable' amount to spend, although I've somehow managed to get my favourite items down to just a handful. I should also mention that Missguided are doing 25% student discount at the moment (they always have amazing deals) so definitely head over and have a look! Below I've listed some of my favourite pieces...

I'd love to know if you liked any of these pieces and are there any other websites you'd recommend for 'party season'? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading xx

Autumn-Winter Yankee Candles

It's finally my favourite time of year again. Although I do appreciate the milder weather in the Summer months, I can't help but count down the days every year 'til it's officially September again, and therefore it is finally acceptable to pull out the chunky knits, knee high boots and visit Yankee Candle a ridiculous amount of times to see what new and exciting scents they have to offer. Hallowe'en & Christmas candle shopping is up there with my favourite things to do. Sad, I know.

I had always been a fan of the large or medium sized jars in Yankee.. but when there are so many scents to choose from and some candles don't necessarily have the same scent when they are burnt, I figured it would be best to opt for the votives this time. Priced at £1.80 and providing up to 15 hours of fragrance each, I think they're incredible value for money and a great idea for testing out the scent before forking over £20 out of your pocket for a candle you mightn't end up liking.

ZARA Trench Coat

A trench coat is an absolute essential in any girls wardrobe. They were so on-trend over AW 2015, but if you're living in the UK, you'll definitely be able to wear one pretty much all year round! I found this beauty in ZARA in May of last year although I was initially put off buying it as a vision of Inspector Gadget came into my head as soon as I tried it on LOL.. anybody remember that TV show?

Not only that, but for £79.99, I wanted to be absolutely sure I'd wear it. Tried it, bought it, loved it.. still love it. This coat has saved me a lot of late-to-class mornings as your outfit underneath can be as basic as jeans and t-shirt. Throw a trench coat on top and you look a lot more put together than you otherwise would have! The material of this coat is quick thick, therefore ideal for the single digit temperatures. ZARA just sold out of this coat a few days ago, but for reference, I'm a size 8 in most stores and I picked up a size small in this coat.. it fits perfectly! I'm sure ZARA will bring out many more this year.. I can't wait to see!

Let me know if you've found any trench coats that you're loving this year!

NYE Outfit & Plans for 2016

I'm currently in a state of denial that Christmas is over already, it seemed to go in the blink of an eye. That being said, I don't think I've ever been more excited for a year than 2016. I'm hoping to move city/country/planet (lol) towards the later half of the year to start Uni after spending 4 years doing two different courses which, in the end, helped me figure out what career path to take. It's all a work in progress and nothing is definite yet, but 2016 will likely be home to a lot of changes.

For these reasons, I was really looking forward to celebrating the New Year so a party was in order this time round, as was my favourite winter lipstick ever - MAC 'Diva'. The miles I go for an outfit to perfectly match my lipstick is hilarious, not to mention a bit extreme. This  Missguided skirt was probably the only piece in my wardrobe that matched it to a T, so needless to say, it was an absolute must I purchased the beaded top from the Topshop sale last year and added a statement necklace with my favourite black knee high boots for the essential 'winter vibes'.

What I Wore: Christmas & Boxing Day

It's so hard to believe that Christmas is over already! I felt as though I haven't had time to properly enjoy the festive weeks building up to Christmas as I've been so busy.. it's usually my favourite few weeks of the year, but this year it seemed to just come out of nowhere, and now it's over. Complaining aside, I'm very much looking forward to the New Year. There's so many things I want to do and I've set plans that I'm pretty optimistic about.

Honestly, there aren't many things in this world that bring me as much joy as shopping for Christmas clothes.. or just shopping in general. I'm an absolute magpie to anything glittery, sparkly, gold, silver, sequinned.  I purchased this gold sparkly skirt from Warehouse just last week (and in the meantime it has dropped in price to £30.. run! ) - it's the perfect addition to my Christmas/winter wardrobe . I'd actually pull this out any time of the year and pair with a lighter coloured top and bare legs for a more spring appropriate look. The black lace top is from  Topshop and is a new favourite of mine as I adore anything with flute sleeves since they first became popular this AW season . Plus, high necks are completely my thing right now, although with this piece being so popular, stock in store and online didn't last long and it's completely sold out :-(. These two items paired with heeled knee high boots , MAC 'Ruby Woo' lipstick and a sparkly eye is perfect for this festive time of year.

NEW IN: Topshop

It was Autumn of 2013 that tartan became a massive staple in my wardrobe, as it seemed to become super popular on the fashion front with so many high street retailers making it a huge focus in their stores and online. Being my picky self when it comes to patterns (as well as everything else in life), I spent pretty much this whole year trying to find a tartan shirt that wasn't too long, wasn't too 'manly looking' and didn't look like a pyjama top. Definitely easier said than done!

Topshop Sleeveless Coat

I had to share my awkward fitting room selfie to show off this amazing navy sleeveless coat I found at Topshop last week for £50. I thought it would be much more expensive to be honest, amazing quality for that price and its super thick and warm!

I can't wait to wear this when it gets a bit colder in Ireland, I think it would look AMAZING with a long sleeve navy polka-dot top underneath.. or even stripes and a red lip would be stunning with it!

My shoes are also Topshop, and I recently just picked up the same ones in a burnt orange colour for £12 in the sale!  This coat is still available from Topshop  here  and it also comes in a stunning grey colour which I very nearly bought but managed to contain myself... for now.
