ZARA Love

Follow

June is always an exciting time of year for any shopaholics/fashion girls as most of the high street stores launch their mid-year sales. Although it was completely unnecessary, I definitely did some post-holiday damage in a few of my favourite stores.. and found some amazing pieces. ZARA recently launched their sale and even though I somehow missed out on their email notification and therefore probably missed out on the best selection, I still managed to place an order and get my hands on some amazing deals. I thought I'd put together yet another ZARA appreciation post to show some of my favourite pieces I've been wearing recently.

One thing that ZARA always do well are stripes. As I've mentioned before, I'm a massive fan of striped pieces as it's a semi-subtle print that can be easily paired with other prints without clashing, especially if they're fine pin stripes and a soft colour like the shirt I'm wearing below. I actually picked up this shirt some time last year, however ZARA have so many takes on the classic striped shirt, and they're all pretty similar to be honest, so I've linked a very similar one below! For this look, I've paired my striped shirt with my new pink/mauve high-waisted Topshop Jamie jeans and added some cut-out brown boots from New Look. I just love how well the soft pink and blue tones compliment each other, although I decided to add quite a bright lip for a pop of colour. I'm wearing MAC 'All Fired Up' from last years Christmas collection.

Mustard Biker Jacket Trend

Follow

The ZARA faux leather mustard jacket has been one piece that everyone seems to be wearing this past while. I actually tried it on about two months ago and whilst I absolutely loved the look of it, I thought the colour was just that bit too strong for me.. if only it had been toned down ever so slightly, it would have been perfect. This started me on a mission to find an alternative mustard biker jacket that would compliment my colouring and complexion that bit better.

A few weeks on, I'd seen somebody post this Missguided mustard suedette jacket on Instagram, and I knew I had to have it. It just seemed that bit more wearable (for myself anyway) as the colour didn't look as intense as the ZARA jacket. Maybe I'm mad for actually noticing the difference in shade, but I am definitely glad that I waited and picked up the Missguided one instead! I decided to pair it with a slightly longer subtle striped shirt from Warehouse (now on sale) to give a bit of length to the outfit as the jacket is a cropped style, along with my deep blue high-waisted Topshop Joni jeans.

Both jackets from Missguided and ZARA are still available.. and both are £40 each. Items are linked below as always. For size reference, I ordered a size 8 in the Missguided jacket and it fits fine although it is a relaxed fit, so if you prefer a very tight fit then you might be best ordering one size down. x

Thanks so much for reading as always.. I'd love to know what you think of the mustard biker jacket trend in the comments below! xox

'Mustard Chic' and Tips

Follow

Every so often, I get absolutely obsessed with certain tones and colours. For a while it was burgundy, then khaki green and now I can't seem to get enough mustard pieces in my wardrobe. It's a colour that I never thought I'd wear or could ever pull off when it started becoming 'trendy' again and although I do sometimes find it hard to match, I'd always say creams or greys work best to 'tone it down' a little. In my opinion, I'd avoid anything camel or warm toned as it can be a bit  too warm , although colour-blocking with mustard and burgundy for example can look amazing too. I'm definitely going to give colour-blocking a go this Spring/Summer!

New ZARA Purchases

If you've been following me for a while, it will come as no shock that I've had a little trip to ZARA recently.. yes, again. If there are many of you from Ireland, I always go to the ZARA in Belfast which is a whole shopping trip of its own - I could literally spend a day in there (no exaggeration at all), not to mention spend an entire month's wages in one go!

ZARA Trench Coat

A trench coat is an absolute essential in any girls wardrobe. They were so on-trend over AW 2015, but if you're living in the UK, you'll definitely be able to wear one pretty much all year round! I found this beauty in ZARA in May of last year although I was initially put off buying it as a vision of Inspector Gadget came into my head as soon as I tried it on LOL.. anybody remember that TV show?

Not only that, but for £79.99, I wanted to be absolutely sure I'd wear it. Tried it, bought it, loved it.. still love it. This coat has saved me a lot of late-to-class mornings as your outfit underneath can be as basic as jeans and t-shirt. Throw a trench coat on top and you look a lot more put together than you otherwise would have! The material of this coat is quick thick, therefore ideal for the single digit temperatures. ZARA just sold out of this coat a few days ago, but for reference, I'm a size 8 in most stores and I picked up a size small in this coat.. it fits perfectly! I'm sure ZARA will bring out many more this year.. I can't wait to see!

Let me know if you've found any trench coats that you're loving this year!
